Persuasion is coming out on DVD, as well as a slew of older movie titles according to this NY Times piece.  Today Netflix emailed the announcement that unlimited viewing online is starting for most members. If you’re like me, you’re always waiting for DVD’s to be released. I’m looking forward to The Tudors, because I saw the first two episodes online last year and it seems like it took forever for the DVD to be released.  I couldn’t get the first Tudor DVD (long wait) so I skipped to the second, hoping I can use the summary to catch up.  I have Superbad coming soon as well as Waitress. I just looked and both are now on a waiting list.  Think I’m going to skip Balls of Fury, based on the reviews by other Netflix members – which seemed to confirm what I thought from watching the preview. I don’t think I can take more than five minutes of this sort of visual, even if I make allowance for how many lives Christopher Walken did save through his superhuman powers of seeing the future. How could he not see what this kind of a script would look like on the screen? His costume reminded me of a combination of Mrs. Oleson’s hair before she went to bed on Little House on the Prairie and a Dracula collar and cape over a nightgown – with what appears to be a necklace made out of twizzlers?  By the way, did you know that the real Mrs. Oleson is now 80ish years old and lives in the same neighborhood as her daughter on the show, Nellie?  What’s Nellie up to? Well she has her own blog, called Confessions of a Prairie Bitch.  Hmmph.
